CHRISTIAN POETRY # 6 - QUESTIONABLE LOVE

QUESTIONABLE LOVE

How can I sense that I’m still loved by my mate?
Love is blind they say, but the neighbors ain’t.
He tells me that he loves me, but that can’t be so.
For they tell me his heart is with another and that’s my woe.

However, the Lord knows he’s mocked me,
So perhaps I’ll flee and from him be free.
But in doing so, I must forsake my marriage vow.
Something the Lord doesn’t allow.

So here I before going to bed I pray
My love will finally see the light of day.
Remembering I’m the one with whom he wanted to forever live.
Being a Christian woman, if he does return, him I must forgive.
