CHRISTIAN POETRY # 3 - ONLY IF WE COULD BE A CHILD AGAIN

ONLY IF WE COULD BE A CHILD AGAIN

Remember Sundays,
Remember those Sundays.
Those days when with our family we went to church
And took part with the Holy Eucharist.
Our parents got wine, and we got grape juice.

Remember Sundays,
Remember those Sundays,
When the palm leaves got passed out
Our parents took them
And they made little crosses for us to hold.

Remember Wednesdays,
Remember those Wednesdays.
When parents had loved, along with us kids
In getting their faces dirty
With ashes made into a cross.

Where have those marvelous days gone.
Have they gone away?
Have they gone totally away?
Or is there still time for us
Still time for us to return home to God.
