Unlike
all of his other books I’ve read/reviewed, this has been the first time it has
triggered a song I loved to listen to back around November 1980. However it
wasn’t the song itself but a parody of it which fits the serial killer Mr
Rosewood discusses in this book, Patrick Kearney.
The
song I got on my mind here is Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again.”
He
just can’t wait to get on the road again
The
life of killing young boys is like music to his hearsAnd he just can’t wait to get on the road again
On
the road again
Going
places that he’s seldom beenKilling young boys no one is ever see again
This
depraved individual, Patrick Kearney, would pick up young, unsuspecting
boys hitchhiking on the California freeways; then kill them so he could garner
some sexual satisfaction, and then dismembering their bodies prior to disposing
of the remains.
One
of the things which enabled him to carry out these horrific murder is the personae
which he projected, a simple looking guy who was incapable of harming a fly.
For
giving his readers an insightful look into the psyche of another serial killer
I’ve given this endeavor 5 STARS.
