REBLOG of Nicky Wells' Latest Blog Entry # 1

I've been one of Nicky Well's biggest followers. There hasn't been a week I haven't responded to her blog, especially on Mondays when she offers a musical selection; and I respond with one which relates to the topic of the entry or the question she asks.  I hope you'll enjoy reading it.

On this day in 1993 (a Monday, if memory serves), a historic event transpired at Dover Ferry port, at about 10 a.m. Slightly bleary-eyed after a 4 a.m. start, a long drive, and a two-hour journey on the SeaCat across a very 'lumpy' English Channel (the captain's words, not mine), I emerged onto British soil for good. I was 20 years old.
This week Nicky has written a very personal entry which starts with her going to college in the UK from her native 20 years ago, falling in love, getting married, and beginning to raise a family, along with some other tidbits. And from the looks of things she there to stay in the UK. But don't let me tell you everything....READ IT for yourself.

FIVE SENTENCE FICTION - Magnetic

A MAGNETIC PERSONALITY

This week Lillie [http://www.lilliemcferrin.com] has asked us to write a Five Sentence Fiction response to her prompt of MAGNETIC.  I couldn’t believe this has given me the opportunity to disclose part of the storyline of my second romance writing endeavor, a still untitled Contemporary romance.

After Jessica’s car accident, William Griffith, a volunteer firefighter, came to her aid by extricating her from her vehicle.  He placed her in a sitting position against her car, making sure she was okay. After a few moments he saw Jessica trying to stand up and immediately went to her side to give his assistance, and as he held her against his chest, she felt a warm secure feeling which she never had experienced in a man’s arms before. Perhaps this is why she accepted his offer to drive her home in his SUV, and once there invited him inside.  After he told her that the SUV’s battery had died and that he wouldn’t to get a boost until the next morning, Jessica offered Bill a spare room to spend the night, not knowing that this would be the relationship she’d always dreamt of having.

I would definitely love to get feedback on this.

FIVE SENTENCE FICTION - Wild

This week Lillie McFerrin have us “WILD” as the prompt with which we’re to write our FIVE SENTENCE FICTION.

This week I decided to write a poem instead of my usual endeavors

 WILD DREAMS
Oh if I could only become a bestselling author.
And to have a movie version of it would be even better.
These are only the mere dreams I’ve got.
But reality is these are things which are not.
Wild dreams is what keeps me going on.

Three books in less than 365 days... Wow! Yes, it's a year to the day, if not the date, that the first book in the Rock Star Romance Trilogy, Sophie's Turn, was released by my publisher, Sapphire Star Publishing. And today, it's time to set free the final instalment of the romance between legendary rock star, Dan Hunter, and girl-next-door, Sophie.

Five Sentence Flash Fiction - THUNDER

A Clap of Thunder
A clap of thunder has just awoken me from my sleep as I’d dreamt of wonderful paradise. And as I adventured out of my salt-box home I saw the most foreboding sky I’d never seen with black, green and yellow blotches littered the sky, which up to a few short hours ago had been a luscious blue without barely a cloud to be seen; and which now looked like the entire world was about to end. Dead silence marked scene as I heard my heart beating faster and faster, louder and louder without any sight of any abatement in sight. I knew I had no one anywhere near me, and then a touch by someone’s hand on my shoulder caused me to involuntarily let out a shrieking scream. I awoke again to find this had all been the real dream.

FIVE SENTENCE FICTION - Fabric

Well I’m glad things have finally returned to normalcy and I can once again start to have those little grey cells in my head start flowing again so the creativity I once had to write my next romance manuscript can finally return to me relatively unscathed.
And one of the things I used to love to do had been to respond to the weekly prompt by Lillie McFerrin to write a Five Sentence Fiction based on a single word.  This week the prompt word is FABRIC

A RETURN TO NORMALCY
F or the past weeks things kept on popping up which had prevent me from pursuing my normal and regular writing activities which usually made up the FABRIC of my daily existence.

A lone without a computer to aid me in these daily quests, I’d been left forlorn with more and more things needing to get done as each moment ticked slowly by.
BR eaking up my daily routine has created voids and nothing to fill them with.

I ncreasing impatient I’d become with every lapsed moment in my new world without an electronic connection to the outside.
C essation of my miserable state finally came to an end after about four days when I finally restored the programming to my printer and I could hold my newly created words for my next romance novel in my hands, and have the FABRIC of my daily existence return to its previous docile state.

I'VE RETURNED

Oh my I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve really posted anything new.  Well what would you expect, with my having to back up ALL of my files and have the operating system reinstalled? After which I had to reinstall the files to operate my printer/scanner/copier, followed by restoring my desktop to its pre-disaster condition, as well as restoring all of my files.  I then had to catch with the literally hundreds and hundreds of emails. In trying to catch up I’ve had my Twitter account suspended for several days.  If this wasn’t bad enough, the timing couldn’t have happened at a worst time, it coincided with us having all the kitchen cabinets replaced with a new sink. Imagine having everything from those cabinets being placed in boxes scattered through the living room, and the time spent put everything in those boxes and later having to return everything to its proper location in those cabinets; it a nightmare I know many of you know and can related to my own experience.

On a brighter note, before all this began, I’d become a Moderator for a group on LinkedIn.  Furthermore, in the past few days I felt quite honored as I’d been asked and I’ve accepted to become the Moderator for two more LinkedIn groups, this has made me feel quite acknowledged and honored, as I must be doing something right.

So if you’re on LinkedIn, I’d love to connect with you, just leave me a message mentioning this blog when you do.  You’re also invited to join my groups [mention wouldn’t hurt on the groups I moderate.

Here’s to the future, and more frequent posts on my part.
