MagPie Tales 161 - MY BEDROOM MIRROR

Just found another creative writing site, MagPie Tales [http://magpietales.blogspot.com.au/ ]

The instructions are simple: Write a poem or short vignette using the picture featured in the post as your inspiration. [had problems posting photo here]

After thinking about it for a while, I decided to write a series of four HAIKU

It’ll be just lovely
To look at me from behind
As others usually do

Please, is my hair combed
Without single strand astray
Perfect, glad at last

Are my clothes wrinked
Because I’ve got no iron
For them to be gone.

Perfection at last
I now can venture outside
To imperfect world

    1. Glad you loved it. This is only the third I attempted writing HAIKU. It really makes you be creative as it forces you to use the scheme of 5-7-5 syllables in each of three line to communicate a thought/idea.

  2. I don't think I'd like the rear view of me...

    1. I think the front is far more important as any/all of your emotion can be seen there, especially on your face and in your eyes.

  3. There is a deepness but an here I like.

    1. There is a deepness here, which is quite real for all of us, when we endeavor to be as perfect as possible when we present ourselves in public.

  4. I think it would be a useful sort of mirror!

    1. It definitely would be. We all know how wonderful it is when we buy new clothes which might require some minor alterations, and we have to step on a platform which has those three mirrors. :-)

  5. I could use a mirror like that! I like your line about the imperfect world.

    1. My dear "namesake". No matter how perfect we might seem to be "to ourselves." In the imperfect world everyone has something which is imperfect to other people. So if this is the case, why do we always strive for perfection. I fear it must be to the self-glorification we all have for ourselves.
