ANOTHER MARRIAGE ANNIVERSARY IS AROUND THE CORNER

In a few weeks, on November 20th to be precise, I and my Dear OH [my other half] will be happily married for 26 years. This is not to say that we never had any disagreements/arguments, which we had, but out of them we grew and had a better understanding and admiration for each other.

So far this year, about 45% of the 220+ books I’ve read/reviewed have been for Christian books; because of this and my upcoming anniversary I decided to check the books I reviewed to see if there had been any book which might enhance the marriage of individuals, essentially regardless of their actual religion and found I had reviewed “Marriage God's Way: A Biblical Recipe for Healthy, Joyful, Christ-Centered Relationships” by Scott LaPierre which is available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0692689354

At its best, marriage brings joys and blessings rarely seen in this life. At its worst, marriage generates pain and conflict, often because husbands and wives do not fully understand their roles and responsibilities.

Wouldn't it be great if husbands and wives had access to clear, simple instructions on how to have a wonderful marriage? Such instructions exist! As the author of marriage, God placed the recipe in His Word that shows husbands and wives how to experience the marital blessings available to every couple. Whether you are preparing for your wedding, newlyweds, or marriage veterans, you will learn those instructions in Marriage God's Way.
Pastor Scott offers a clear guide on the Bible's view of marriage. He explains:

Scripture's commands for husbands and wives Godly love and how to show it Submission and headship Biblical intimacy How to build your marriage on an indestructible foundation Scott LaPierre combines clear teaching from Scripture with practical application for daily married life to encourage, challenge, and equip you to experience a healthy, joyful, Christ-centered relationship.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I'm the senior pastor of Woodland Christian Church in Woodland, WA, a Regional Facilitator over WA and OR for The National Center for Family-Integrated Churches, an author, and conference speaker.

My wife,
Katie, is also an author, and we have been blessed with seven children that we homeschool. We grew up together in the small town of McArthur, in the mountains of northern California.

After college, I served as an Army officer before becoming an elementary school teacher. While teaching, I began working part-time as an associate pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Lemoore, California. When the church grew, I was hired full time and remained there until coming to Washington.

I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration and two master’s degrees, one in education and the other in biblical studies.

I spend most of my time with my home and church families. I love studying and teaching God’s Word. The free time I have is usually committed to reading and writing. Our kids stay busy with church, music, and school.

My books come from my sermons, which take twenty-to-thirty hours of work each week. This means each book contains hundreds of hours of study in God’s Word.

I hope you’ll consider

If I can pray for you in any way, please

Here’s my review for this book.

LOVE AND MARRIAGE - YOU CAN'T HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER

I read this book via an Amazon KINDLE Unlimited download.

Being a child of the 1950’s I can’t help but recall the now-classic song being sung by Frank Sinatra called Love and Marriage. According to the song’s lyrics, they go together like the old-fashioned horse and carriage where you can’t have one without the other. In addition, it's a foundation which no one can denigrate; and if you’ve got any doubts, just basically ask anyone who’s happily married. These two items according to the song are something so tightly interwoven, that it’s a misconception if you would try to separate them.

However, one thing which this song doesn’t address is how important the Lord’s presence is in the relationship between a husband and his wife. Some individuals allow their hearts to rule their minds when it comes to falling in love and blindly rush into marriage with that person. And sometimes, an individual’s mind rules their hearts and they rush into marriage because it’s the proper thing to do; yet, there’s no real love for that other person.

Given the vast multitudes of personalities that exist between men and women, it’s impossible for two individuals to perfectly mesh 100%. There needs to be some sort of compromise between the two, and within this compromising, couples on occasion might have incidents where anguish and disagreement rule the day. Unfortunately, there’s no single book designed to give individuals detailed information about how something should be done when these incidences arise, save one; which is the book written by the Lord, the one who had created the institution of marriage.

In his book, the author, Pastor Scott LaPierre, with his extensive knowledge of the Lord’s words and personal stories gives readers the much sought-after marriage instructional manual they’ve been looking for. Within the pages of this book, readers are given easy to understand descriptions for the roles husbands and their wives have been given by the Lord. Basically, almost all aspects of a marriage are presented including intimacy. Naturally, readers are told about the Lord’s love and how to show it to each other; and more importantly how couples can form the everlasting basis for the kind of relationship God wants his believers to have. Marriage is by far one of the grandest gifts he could ever give His children.

In conclusion, let’s look at what Ephesians 5:28-33 [ESV] has to say about marriage
28] In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
29] For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,
30] because we are members of his body.
31] “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
32] This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.
33] However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

For having written this book, with the Lord’s guidance, for his readers, there’s no way I can’t give Pastor LaPierre, the 5 STARS he deserves for this book.

You should check out the accompanying workbook, which is designed to enhance your reading experience of this book.

STATUS REPORT # 150

I know. I know. It’s been almost a month since my last post and even more since my last Status Report. To begin with, since both my dear OH and myself are senior citizens, we both had to deal with family and personal medical issues [nothing at all serious]; but they did take a few hours on several days to get everything handled.

I’ve hit another milestone in regards to my reviewing of books since my last post – I’ve hit 200 books and have updated my Good Reads Reading Challenge target, by increasing it to 250 books by the end of the year. I’m also fast approaching my having read 100 Christian books so far this year, my current percentage in books for this genre now stands at about 45%, and I can definitely see myself having read/reviewed 100 Christian books with the next 10 days. If anyone is interested in reading my reviews for Christian books or any other genre, here is the direct link to my Amazon profile:

I hope you’ll enjoy reading what I’ve written for my reviews, especially the reviews I’ve written for Christian books most of which include scripture.

I had started to post copies of each of the reviews I write. But then, I came to the realization that this blog would have slowly been turned into merely the Robin Leigh Morgan Book Review site since I wouldn’t essentially have any variety to my posts besides my reviews. [No one had taken my offer to interview authors on this blog.]

Since I’m approaching reading/reviewing my 100th Christian book, I figure it might be a good time to start adding a new feature from time to time to this blog which would spotlight one of the Christians authors whose book[s] I’ve read/reviewed. I hope you, as one of my blog followers will enjoy having this new feature on my blog.

As far as my writing endeavors are concerned my adult Contemporary romance, “His Darkest Secret” is almost 90% completed, and my YA Urban Fantasy, “The Secret of the Well” is almost 70% completed [this book is also a stand-alone sequel to my debut YA romance novel, “I Kissed a Ghost.”

As I’ve mentioned previously, with all of the Christian books I’m reading/reviewing, I’ve decided to write 2 Christian books of my own. The first is a YA Christian romance novella entitled, “It Had All Been a Game” and the second is “Christian Short Stories and Essays” a collection of 50 items.

Hopefully, if everything goes as planned, I’ll have all these writing endeavors published by the end of November. In the meantime, why not check out all of my books on Amazon.

If anyone would like to interview me as an author, as a book review or both for their blog/website just send a message to my FaceBook account. Just enter my full name to start the interview process – THANKS]

So, in closing my dear followers have a BLESSED WEEKEND for your families !!! 😊 😊 😊

Don’t be shy I would love hearing from you, so please leave a comment.
